چکیده

Free-form 3-D surfaces registration is a fundamental problem in 3-D imaging, tipically approached by extensions or variations of the ICP algorithm. This work presents a new frequency domain technique for 3-D view registration, totally diierent form an other recently proposed t e chnique for 3-D motion estimation also, based on the Fourier transform. Conceively, the proposed method c an give a non feature-based method for unsupervised registration of 3-D views. The obtained results are useful \per se" in applications targeted to visual quality or can serve as good starting point for the ICP algorithm when a higher precision is needed.

Deposition of Ultrathin Nano-Hydroxyapatite Films on Laser Micro-Textured Titanium Surfaces to Prepare a Multiscale Surface Topography for Improved Surface Wettability/Energy

The primary aim of this study was to analyse the correlation between topographical features and chemical composition with the changes in wettability and the surface free energy of microstructured titanium (Ti) surfaces. Periodic microscale structures on the surface of Ti substrates were fabricated via direct laser interference patterning (DLIP). Radio-frequency magnetron sputter deposition of u...

An Analysis-by-Synthesis Camera Tracking Approach Based on Free-Form Surfaces

We propose a model-based camera pose estimation approach, which makes use of GPU-assisted analysis-by-synthesis methods on a very wide field of view (e.g. fish-eye) camera. After an initial registration, the synthesis part of the tracking is performed on graphics hardware, which simulates internal and external parameters of the camera, this way minimizing lens and perspective differences betwee...

Dry Friction and Wear Performance of Micro Surface Textures Generated by Ultrasonic Assisted Face Turning

Nowadays the surface texturing has been widely recognized as a usable capability to improve the tribological systems. In this paper, ultrasonic assisted turning (UAT) isperformed to create the micro textures on the flat faces. Micro surface texturing ismade on the Al7075-T6 by the UAT in the face turning process. Then, the influences of cutting speed feed, vibration direction and vibration ampl...
